Parade 09

Join us on René-Lévesque Boulevard East on August 16 2009, beginning at 13:00

The 2009 Montréal LGBTA Parade is scheduled for Sunday August 16 2009, beginning at 13:00. The parade will start on the corner of de Lorimier street and travel west on René-Lévesque Boulevard, through the Village, culminating on Saint-Hubert Street at the Place Émilie-Gamelin where everyone is invited to continue the celebrations during the MEGA T-DANCE until the closing show.

The parade will feature floats from hundreds of local sports teams, cultural and religious groups as well as other gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender organizations. The parade will also feature both gay and gay-friendly businesses that join us in celebrating the significant contributions of their LGBTA employees and clients.

These events honour an important tradition that began in Montréal in 1979. Participating groups and businesses will be encouraged to design their floats incorporating this year’s theme of “¡Fiesta!”

Another exciting new addition to these events will be the designation of the Célébrations LGBTA Montréal Grand Marshals. The names of these two members of the LGBTA community, one selected for his/her contribution to the visibility of the LGBTA movement and one for his/her contribution to our community, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, Célébrations LGBTA Montréal is launching a series of special awards for the most exciting, crowd-pleasing and unforgettable floats.

Join us on René-Lévesque Boulevard East between de Lorimier and Saint-Hubert on August 16 2009, beginning at 13:00, for the 2009 Montréal Pride Celebrations.
