Queer, Trans and Racialised Authors Day

The Racines bookstore and meeting space, will host the Queer, Trans and Racialised Authors Day within its walls. Located in the Montréal suburb of Montréal ?Nord, Racines is a specialty bookstore that has given itself the mandate of promoting the history, the culture and the life of People of Color. It is only natural join with Montréal Pride to celebrate and highlight the contribution of the poets from our diversity and who are members of the LGBTQ community, during Pride Week.

You are all invited to participate in a full-day of free activities open to the general public. Join us for this day which promises to be extraordinary. Details can be found on the Facebook page of La Librairie Racines.

Program of the Day 

10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Queer, Trans and Authors of Color Book Fair

A call for Reservations will be made to Queer, Trans and Artists of Color at large so they may reserve a table for

the sale of their crafts or books. No charge for the table, but numbers limited.

1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Workshop: Zine Production
A trainer has not been selected yet but materials will be supplied to all participants. The workshop will be
hands-on with a DIY approach

2:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Pause/Meal/Music
A hot and cold buffet will be provided to all participants free of charge with vegan and no gluten options available.

4:30 p.m. to 6: 30 p.m. Tell Us About Yourself (Panel Discussion)
Four (4) Queer, Trans and racialised authors will read excerpts from their work and share their experiences with the audience, in both languages of English and French.

A Call for Panel Participants will also be made.
